A three-month closure order has been granted on a property on Lumley Avenue, Skegness, following repeated reports of serious anti-social behaviour. The order was secured at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 3 November by the local Neighbourhood Policing Team in relation to The Old Rectory. This comes after persistent issues left residents distressed and significantly affected by disruption linked to the address. Reports received included allegations of drug dealing and drug use, as well as a high volume of visitors attending and leaving the property at all hours of the day and night. The closure order follows extensive work to gather evidence, including witness statements, CCTV and other relevant material presented before the court. Sergeant Matt Neal, of East Lindsey's Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: "The persistent issues associated with this property were having a considerable impact on the surrounding community, with residents repeatedly reporting behaviour that was causing alarm, distress and disruption. We have listened to those concerns and worked extensively to build the evidence required to secure this closure order. "Closure orders are an important tool in helping us tackle anti-social behaviour and protect communities. I hope this action reassures local residents that when concerns are raised via the correct channels, we can continue to take robust action where individuals engage in behaviour that negatively affects those living nearby."
